Did you know that the deadline to submit a talk idea for Ignite Portland 5 is only about 3 days away? After 11:59 PM PST on Saturday January 24, it’ll be too late. That burning idea in your head wants to be free! It wants to be shared on stage at IP5 with 500 of your closest friends! Head over to the “Submit a Talk” page and set that burning idea free.
And did you know that you can leave private comments on the proposals that others have submitted? The comments will only be seen by the event organizers, so if you see a talk that you’re just DYING to see, make your voice heard. Just click on the submission name, and find the comment form at the bottom.
The talks that get chosen will be posted here for all to see on Friday, January 30. I can’t wait to see what the lineup will be this time!

Hey Josh! When do we get to hear who the next presenters are?
Howdy team! First off, fantastic job all-around… I know LoT puts lots of work into making Ignite amazing. Here’s a thought: After proposals are submitted / submission cut-off and before the review process begins behind-the-scenes, it’d be great to have a public comment period. A day or two even where engaged participants can review *all* proposals (even those submitted just before deadline) and give feedback. I know that adds complexity to your process, but the responses may be helpful? …or, perhaps not?
@Jen - submitters will be notified by Wednesday, and we’ll post the list of talks for IP5 on the site on Friday 1/30.
@BMW - We do accept (and encourage!) comments from the community on all of the proposals. I can see how it would be nice to be able to accept comments until selection happens. We’d have to have Igal change the software to allow us to close comments at a different time than we close submissions. We’ll see about implementing that in the future - thanks for the idea!
